Horrible to build with very few holes lining up properly and ended up taking a couple of days. Once up it wasnt water tight and was extremely flimsy and rust started to appear after just a few weeks. Pay up for something better
Lovely light
Easy to
Install
Looks amazing in bedroom
Excellent cushion.
Well made, good looking and plenty of features. The changing lights are entertaining and it gives just a little blastof heat when needed, without the need to turn up the thermostat for an entire room. I would recommend this product.
I have constructed the box, using the cotton gloves provided and with great care on a soft, cardboard covered floor, using suitable tools and tightened all fittings to a moderate torque using an electric screwdriver. Peeling off all the plastic film was massive pain in the neck.
Unfortunately I noted the following issues. I am unclear if this is isolated to my box or more widespread:
- In several places on one of the side panels - despite the protective plastic film, the paint was scratched off when I removed the film (before starting the build). It is unclear what metal has been used, but bare metal suggests that the paint coating is not durable and that it risks corrosion.
- there were several minor dents in the smooth surface of the metal walls. This is not consistent with the description of 'sturdy' or that it is "high-quality metal, resistant to dents". The metal panels are very thin and highly flexible. This is not the "Heavy-Duty Metal Construction" advertised in the description - it is flimsy.
- The box is not sturdy - when I lift the lid it is possible to see the upper part of the box flexing laterally - this is because there is no rigid frame around the open aperture and the walls and the angle pieces that join them are thin and flexible and do not provide adequate rigidity. This will put stress on the bolts and cause the box to loosen and weaken within a short time.
I was concerned about the quality of materials when I opened the package but decided to proceed and construct the box in the hope that once assembled it would be adequate and meet the description.
The listing for the box advertises it as "minimal assembly is required, and it comes with an instruction manual and necessary hardware for easy setup." I am competent at basic DIY and used a power screwdriver for speed, but it still took me over 90 minutes to prepare and assemble this box, including the many screws and bolts it requires as well as removing the protective plastic film from every painted surface, This is not 'minimal assembly' and I have built IKEA furniture in a tiny fraction of the time this took. It is fair to say the instructions were excellent though. At certain points it requires two people - one to support the lid the other to screw in the hinges.
